U4GM - Why the Current Endgame Mapping in POE 2 Feels Like a Chore

The issue of "poe 2 currency" acquisition is deeply tied to the current state of endgame mapping, which many players find tedious and unenjoyable. The latest 0.2 patch of Path of Exile 2 has drawn criticism for making the mapping experience feel like a grind rather than fun gameplay. A key complaint is the handling of towers in maps. Players spend a disproportionate amount of time searching for valuable tower layouts—specifically three-tower overlaps—that yield significantly better loot. However, these setups are rare and often frustrating, especially when fog of war obscures potential rewards or when the middle of the tower cluster is just water, rendering the effort wasted.

One proposed solution is to limit towers to spawn only in pairs, making two-tower setups plentiful and eliminating the tedious search for three-tower overlaps. Alternatively, decoupling the "juice" (valuable rewards) from towers entirely could improve exploration without forcing players to chase rare tower configurations. This change would maintain the usefulness of towers in revealing the atlas while removing the current mandatory feel of tower setups for good loot. The current system feels like a chore, and fixing towers is essential for improving the endgame map experience in future patches like 0.3.
